In 2020, attendance at free events in movie theaters across Italy amounted to little more than 65 thousand, down from over 365 thousand one year before – an annual decline of 82 percent. Meanwhile, the number of movie tickets sold in Italy decreased by 71 percent between 2019 and 2020.
