This statistic shows the military aircraft which are currently in production or service which have cruising speeds greater than 1,000 knots. The cruising speed of an aircraft is usually the speed at which it is most economic to fly, slightly faster than the speed which allows for its maximum range, but also slower than the aircraft's top speed. Of these aircraft, only the Lockheed F-22 Raptor and Boeing F-15E Strike Eagle have cruising speeds more than twice the speed of sound (approximately 1,333.5 knots)
