South Korea: accommodation type chosen by visitors

According to a survey conducted among international visitors to South Korea throughout 2019, around 72 percent of respondents stated that they their choice of accommodation was a hotel. Hotels were far more popular than any other option. Around one in ten visitors stayed at the private homes of family or friends.

* To qualify for the survey, respondents need to have stayed in South Korea for more than one day and less than one year.
Those who just arrived to transfer the flight were excluded;
Pilots, flight attendants and soldiers were excluded, except when their purpose of visit was tour;
Only one of two people in a group was invited to the interview;
Up to two in a group with over ten people were invited to the interview considering age and gender distribution;
Up to four people in a package tour group were invited to the interview.
