Reasonable and actual wait times from appointment to treatment in Canada 1994-2023

In 2023, the clinically reasonable waiting time for a patient to receive treatment after an appointment with a specialist was 8.5 weeks in Canada, however the actual waiting time was 13.1 weeks. The discrepancy between clinically reasonable and actual wait times was highest in 2003 and now recently in 2021 and 2022 but has decreased slightly in 2023.
