Grants for performing arts in the Netherlands

Total subsidies allocated to the performing arts industry in the Netherlands were significantly higher in 2020 and 2021 compared to the previous years, most likely to compensate for the impact of the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic. In 2021, total grants assigned to this industry amounted to around 510 million euros, increasing from roughly 462 million euros in 2020.
