Between 1918 and 2017 the largest majority held by a government following elections in the United Kingdom was 492, held by the national government formed in the wake of the Great Depression in 1931. The largest majority held by a single party was the Conservative led government of 1924, which had a majority of 210 seats in parliament. Tony Blair's Labour government of 1997 stands as the largest majority enjoyed by the Labour party at 178, this is also the largest majority any government has experienced since the Second World War. The last four governments in this time period have all had majority seats below 100 in number, with the government formed after the 2017 unable to secure a majority
