The total global value of payments reached a new all-time high in 2022, with nearly half of all payments coming from Asia-Pacific. However, the source adds that the growth in APAC in 2022 was lower than other parts of the world. North America, Latin America, and EMEA (Europe, the Middle East, and Africa) saw their revenue increase by more than 10 percent between 2021 and 2022. Asia-Pacific recorded a growth of four percent during the same time – 25 percent when excluding China. The source adds that Brazil, India, Japan, and the United States were the countries with the highest increase in payments revenue.
