Share of daily smokers among individuals aged 20 to 64 in Finland 2013-2017
This statistic shows the share of daily smokers among individuals aged 20 to 64 in Finland from 2013 to 2017. The share of smokers consuming tobacco on a daily basis decreased during the survey period. In 2017, 13.2 percent of Finns in the age range smoked daily. The share was over four percent lower than in 2013. Legislative actions, health promotion and national monitoring measures are taken to reduce the health risks caused by smoking. For instance, the sale of tobacco for individuals under 18 years of age is prohibited in Finland and cigarette advertising is not allowed.
