This graph shows the extra cost that in 2014 meant to the fruit and vegetable sector the use of reusable plastic pool instead of corrugated packaging in the Region of Murcia. The data focus on the commercialization of lettuce, broccoli, pepper, melon, artichoke and tomato, products that account for 23% of fruit and vegetable production in Murcia. In total, the use of plastic packaging in the marketing of these six products resulted in an extra cost of € 27.6 million for the originator that year, of which approximately € 10 million corresponded to the marketing of lettuce.
