Assessment of the made up or fake news problem in the U.S. 2021
A 2021 study found that the majority of U.S. consumers aged 14 years old and above believed that fake news was a big problem in their country, with 44 percent saying they strongly agreed that this was the case. Only nine percent felt the opposite, and a handful of consumers were unsure whether they thought fake news and misinformation was an issue or not.
