Italy: life insurance gross written premiums 2013-2017, by contract type
This timeline provides information about the value of gross written premiums in the life insurance market in Italy from 2013 to 2017, sorted by type of contract. It can be seen that traditional contracts were the most recurring ones during the period under observation. Moreover, it can be observed that the value of investment contracts increased over the period considered, whereas the value of traditional contracts decreased. As of 2017, traditional life insurance contracts generated a total value of around 63 billion euros, whereas investment contract premiums added up to about 36 billion euros.
