Cases of Zika virus in Brazil 2017-2022, by region
In 2022, Brazil reported a total of 9,204 probable cases of the Zika virus, from which approximately 7.6 thousand infections occurred in the Northeast region. Meanwhile, the South registered the lowest number of Zika infections, with only 167 probable Zika cases that year. By state, Rio Grande do Norte had the highest number of possible Zika virus infections in Brazil in 2022.
