Canadian TJX stores by brand 2015-2018 The number of TJX Companies, Inc. stores in Canada has increased throughout the survey period to reach a total of 484 in 2018. When looking at the brand breakdown, Winners was the most prominent TJX brand in Canada at that time, with 271 stores nationwide. There were 125 HomeSense and 88 Marshalls stores in that same year.

TJX origins

The TJX Companies, Inc., formed in 1987, is an off-price apparel and home-wear retailer which operates a number of brands in the U.S. and worldwide. T.J. Maxx was the first off-price chain opened before Zayre Corp formed the TJX Companies, Inc. entity. Over time, the company acquired and launched several more brands, such as Winners of Canada, HomeGoods, HomeSense, T.K. Maxx and Marshalls. In 2019, there were over 1,200 T.J. Maxx and more than 1,000 Marshalls stores worldwide.

TJX in Canada

TJX Canada brought in net sales of around 3.87 billion U.S. dollars in the fiscal year ended February 2, 2019, making up a ten percent share of total worldwide revenue in that year. In 2018, apparel sales of TJX Canada reached approximately 2.43 billion Canadian dollars, an increase from around 2.3 billion Canadian dollars the previous year.
