Brazilian healthcare
Even though Brazil has the highest number of hospitals compared to any other country in Latin America, along with the largest workforce in the healthcare sector, a wide number of the Brazilian respondents are still quite critical about the quality of Brazilian healthcare. As of 2017, more than half of Brazilian respondents aged 18 to 64 feel that they must pay too much to get medical treatment and that their healthcare system frequently lets them down. However, life expectancy in Brazil is steadily on a rise. People born in 2017 are expected to live the longest than those of any in the previous 10 years. The country also has the second highest number of plastic surgeons in the world – only the U.S has more plastic surgeons than the Latin American country.
