This statistic shows the surface area acquired by grocery retaielrs in Belgium between 2015 and the first half of 2020. Albert Heijn topped the ranking with 46,929 squared meters. Lidl's expansion was the second-most significant as it amounted to 35,185 squared meters. Carrefour followed with an additional area of 27,139 squared meters over the considered period.
