Occupancy rate of U.S. skilled nursing facilities from 2020-2021

In the United States, the occupancy of skilled nursing facilities significantly declined during the coronavirus pandemic. The median occupancy rate for beds in skilled nursing facilities stood at 84.7 percent before the COVID-19 pandemic. The occupancy rate then fell to 68,4 percent in early January 2021. With an occupancy rate of 73.5 percent, skilled nursing facilities have not yet fully recovered from the pandemic.
