Leading product segments for online spending in Belgium as of 2018
Products with highest share of online spending in Belgium 2018
This statistic shows the leading product segments for online spending in Belgium as of 2018. In 2018, online shopping in Belgium reached a value of 10.67 billion, an increase of approximately half a billion euros compared to the previous year. The leading segment, based on spendings, was the non-packaged airline tickets and accommodation. 85 percent of total spending in this branch came from online sales.

Within the Benelux region, Belgium's e-commerce sector is not yet as developed as the sector in the Netherlands. BeCommerce, Belgium's e-commerce association, mentions for example that e-commerce is "ten times larger" in the Netherlands than it is in Belgium. It is growing rapidly, however. In 2016, Amazon was the largest online retailer in Belgium with a revenue of approximately 288 million euros.
