As of December 2018, there were 1,812 cosmetics, beauty supplies and perfume stores across Canada to cater for the growing market. Of these stores, 770 were located in Ontario.

According to a recent survey, Sephora was the most popular retailer used by Canadians when shopping for cosmetics primarily online. Amazon.ca and Walmart were among the other top choices for consumers. When choosing which specific cosmetics to purchase, Canadians are influenced strongly by recommendations from friends, family and family doctors.
