This statistic displays the distribution of the per capita alcohol consumption in Belgium in 2016, by type of beverage. In this year, Belgians on average drank nearly 16 liters of pure alcohol per person. Roughly 45 percent of this consumption consisted of beer, whereas wine accounted for nearly 40 percent of the total alcohol consumption in 2016.
