Regional shopping centers are those that include at least one department store; sub regional centers are defined as those that include at least one discount department store as the major anchor tenant and neighborhood; supermarket-based shopping centers are those that include at least one supermarket as the major anchor tenant; excludes homemaker, themed and factory outlet centers.

Only shopping centers exceeding 1,000 square meters of gross lettable area (GLA) are included in data.
