‘Juveniles crime’ refers to any person below age of 18 years who comes into conflict with the justice system as a result of being suspected or accused of committing crimes.
Data on juveniles in conflict with law is based on police recorded First Information Report (FIR).
The Juvenile Justice (Care and Protection of Children) Act, 2015 allows for juveniles in conflict with Law in the age group of 16–18 years of age, involved in heinous offences, to be tried as adults.
