Italy: electricity production from geothermal power 2015-2050
This statistic shows the results of a study regarding the potential of geothermal power in Italy, showing the forecasted amount of electricity generated from geothermal power in the selected years from 2015 to 2050, by scenario. In the first scenario, the Italian economy is estimated to experience a slow growth up to 2030, before going through a considerable development up to 2050. In the second scenario, instead, the growth is supposed to be remarkable starting from 2020 due to innovative policies promoting research in the field of energy and environmental technology. In the best-case scenario, the electricity production from this source is estimated to reach 16 terawatt hours per year, by the end of 2050.
