Air travel: number of commercial flights Turkey 2021

Between 2004 and 2019, the number of commercial flights followed an increasing trend. However, in 2020, the total number of all landings and takeoffs decreased considerably to 853,000 flights due to the coronavirus pandemic. In 2021, commercial aircraft arrivals and departures amounted to roughly 1.2 million flights. This represents a significant increase of 40 percent compared to the previous year but a 22 percent decrease compared to the pre-pandemic year of 2019.
