Global automotive industry profit pool by segment 2021 & 2035
The automotive industry's profit pool is forecast to shift from mostly traditional internal combustion engine and hybrid vehicles to battery electric and autonomous vehicles in 2035. Notably, segments like the sale of new BEVs and AVs is expected to record a profit growth of 86 billion U.S. dollars, up from two million U.S. dollars in 2021. In contrast, the sale of ICE vehicles and hybrids should record a profit decrease of 73 billion U.S. dollars.
