Countries like India and Indonesia have shown high adoption rates of cryptocurrency. Thanks to the accessibility, speed, and cost-effectiveness of digital assets, consumers have started using cryptocurrencies for cross-border remittances. It is also used for about one percent of e-commerce transactions in the Asia-Pacific region.Despite many new digital currencies springing up in the Asia-Pacific region, the industry leaders are at the forefront in the Asia-Pacific region as well. Some of the most traded cryptocurrencies in the world, Bitcoin and Ethereum, have the highest ownership rates in many Asia-Pacific countries such as China, Australia, Japan, and Malaysia.
