The majority of consumers in Japan who have tried plant-based alternatives to animal products consumed such foods at least several times a year as revealed in a survey conducted by Rakuten Insight in November 2021. While three percent of female respondents stated that they consumed only plant-based foods, the share was slightly smaller among men.
