Japan: Tankan business sentiment index of large nonmanufacturing companies by industry 2024

The Tankan survey, conducted from February to March 2024, showed that the Diffusion Index (DI) of business conditions evaluated by large nonmanufacturing companies in Japan stood at 54 points in the case of information services. The DI of business conditions in nonmanufacturing industries remained at 18 points.

The Tankan survey stands for the Short-Term Economic Survey of Enterprises in Japan. It is conducted once in three months with the aim of providing an accurate picture of business trends of enterprises in Japan. The target of the survey are private enterprises (excluding financial institutions) in the country with a capital of 20 million Japanese yen and more.
