Morocco: state of democracy indices

In Morocco, inclusive suffrage had the highest score in the Global State of Democracy Indices, which measure democratic trends across different attributes of democracy in the period between 1975 and 2019. The subattribute scored 0.89, in a range from zero (lowest achievement) to one (highest achievement), between 1975 and 2019. Access to justice followed, with 0.72. Those were the only subattributes with high performance in the country. Direct democracy, a subattribute that denotes the extent to which citizens can participate in direct popular decision-making, had the lowest score, at 0.14. Overall, most of the subattributes in the analysis had a mid-range performance in the same period.
