From 2016 to 2019, the source Domaine Skiable counted 117 small ski resorts, or 55 percent of the total number of French resorts.
Large and medium resorts accounted for only 27 percent of the total number of resorts. However, they alone accounted for nearly 80 percent of the skier traffic over the same period.
