Domestic natural gas demand for energy production Japan FY 2013-2022
In the fiscal year 2022, the domestic natural gas demand for energy generation in Japan amounted to approximately 2.3 thousand petajoules. Figures peaked in fiscal 2014, reaching around 3.33 thousand petajoules, but indicated a slight downward trend in more recent years. Following petroleum and coal, natural gas represented one of the leading sources for the primary energy supply in Japan.
