In the fiscal year 2022, the share of people with access to sewer lines in Japan reached 81 percent. Sewer lines made up the majority of wastewater treatment facilities that were used in Japan. In that fiscal year, the overall rate of people in the country with access to sewage treatment facilities amounted to around 92.9 percent.
