Countermeasures against cold before and during COVID-19 Japan 2021
According to a survey conducted in January 2021, approximately 67 percent of surveyed Japanese stated that they purchased face masks or face shields for cold prevention during the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic. The second and third most purchased preventive products were disinfectant spray and throat lozenges. By contrast, throat lozenges had been the most purchased cold remedy before the pandemic at around 41 percent, followed by over-the-counter cold medicines.
