Share of food service transactions initiated via an app in the U.S. 2019-2020
Due to the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic, and a subsequent lack of in-house dining, food service transactions initiated via an ordering app in the United States saw a year-over-year increase from 2019 to 2020. In 2019, six percent of food service transactions were initiated via an ordering app. In comparison, 15 percent of food service transactions were initiated via an ordering app in 2020.
