Share of electricity produced in Ghana 2021, by source
As of 2021, natural gas was the primary source of electricity production in Ghana. That year, over 48 percent of the electricity generated in the country was from gas, followed by hydropower with a share of around 34 percent. Moreover, crude oil accounted for approximately 17 percent of the total electrical energy production.
