Non-performing loans euro area 2023

The non-performing exposure of loans and advances in the euro area and other EU countries under the single supervisory mechanism in 2022 was much lower than in 2015. In the second quarter of 2023, the value of non-performing loans and advances amounted to 344 billion euros. Large banks were more exposed to non-performing loans in the EU than those with assets under 200 billion euros.
