France: risky behaviors while driving 2023

In a March 2023 survey,12 percent of French respondents admitted to driving while on medication that may impair their alertness, and nine percent while feeling the effects of alcohol.
Even though driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs is identified as one of the main causes of fatal accidents by well over half of French road users, the share of drunk drivers has been slightly increasing in recent years.
