Overweight and obesity rates in Brazil 2023 by capital city

In 2023, Rio de Janeiro and Manaus were the Brazilian capital cities with the highest prevalence of overweight among adults. That year, approximately 65.2 percent of respondents from Rio de Janeiro were overweight, while the share of adults with the same condition in Manaus reached around 63.5 percent. Meanwhile, the highest obesity rate was reported in Macapá that year, with more than 30 percent.
