Consumers shopping online vs. offline Belgium 2023, by generation

Unsurpisingly, younger consumers were more acquainted with online shopping and, as such, more likely to want to buy online. According to a survey conducted in mid-2023, about a third of Gen Z and millennials in Belgium said they preferred to shop mostly online for goods. In contrast, only 14 percent of Belgian baby boomers felt the same, demonstrating a stronger preference for shopping in physical stores.
