Supplementary notes

Participants were asked how frequently they’ve cycled in the last twelve months for leisure or other purposes. 'Every day' cycling includes cycling every day to school or work except on weekends, and those who cycled including on weekends. The survey had no age restrictions.
Survey data were weighted by quarter to make up for bias that would have otherwise resulted due to low response rates after the COVID-19 pandemic.
A seven day travel diary was also used to collect information for the survey.
