California: experiences of physical or sexual violence while homeless U.S. 2021
According to a study conducted between 2021 and 2022, 38 percent of people who were homeless in California experienced either physical or sexual violence while they were homeless. A majority of respondents cited that the violence was committed by a stranger, with 54 percent experiencing sexual violence committed by a stranger and 49 percent experiencing physical violence committed by a stranger while homeless.
