As reported in a 2023 survey on first-time voters in India, Instagram was the most popular online platform used by young Indians to keep abreast of political developments, accounting for 40 percent of the responses. Meanwhile, contrary to its dominance during the 2019 Lok Sabha elections in India, Facebook seemed to have taken a back seat leading up to the 2024 elections.
