Projected GHG emissions in Italy 2030-2050
In 2023, Italy planned to reduce its greenhouse gas emissions by almost 25 percent between 2021 and 2030, according to the Integrated National Energy and Climate Plan (PNIEC). However, the country was not in line with its emission targets: in 2022, Italy's GHG emissions were larger than in 2021 and amounted to 419 million metric tons of CO2 equivalent.
