This statistic shows the real average prices of crude oil, coal and natural gas bought by major power producers in the United Kingdom between the first quarter of 2012 and the fourth quarter of 2018 in pence per kilowatt hour. Oil was the most expensive fuel, although the price dropped by around two pence per kWh over this period. Coal was the cheapest fuel.
