European insurance market: investment portfolio in 2020, by country
In 2020, the insurers operating in France held the highest portfolio among European countries. That year, insurance companies operating on the French market held an investment portfolio valued at 2.57 trillion euros. This was followed by insurers operating in Germany, with an investment portfolio value of around two trillion euros. The top three was completed by the United Kingdom (UK), with insurers operating in this country having a collective investment portfolio worth approximately 1.88 trillion euros.
