* The LWR survey did not take place in 2008, 2013 or 2018. The data for the respective years was taken from the income and consumption sample (Einkommens- und Verbrauchsstichprobe EVS).

The source adds the following information: "Private household equipment, excluding households of self-employed or farmers and households with a monthly household net income of 17,895 euros (from 2002: 18,000 euros) and above." As the EVS does not follow these standards, the figures from the two sources are only comparable to a limited extent.

The cutoff date is January 1 of each year.
