Young Americans who had an STD treatment 2013-2015, by ethnicity
This statistic displays the percentage of sexually experienced young Americans between the ages of 15-25 that had received an STD test in the past 12 months, by ethnicity. About 5.6 percent of Hispanic respondents said that they had been tested for an STD in the past 12 months, where as 12.6 percent of Black, non-Hispanic respondents had been tested for an STD in the past 12 months. Some medical organizations suggest that having more time alone with a medical provider (i.e. without parents) might increase the percentage of youth that choose to receive STD testing and other sexual health services.
