The Polish city with the most hotel rooms is the capital Warsaw, with approximately twice the number of rooms as the next city Krakow. Other popular cities include Wroclaw, Gdansk and Poznan. While hotels are numerous in Warsaw, holiday apartments are even more popular, with more than 200 existing in the city. The number of hostels has increased as well. Just like in the country overall, the most common hotels in Warsaw are 3-star hotels. However, in terms of hotel rooms, there are approximately 400 more 4-star hotel rooms than 3-star ones in Warsaw.
The hotel market in Poland is led by one chain group, namely Accor/Orbis with 74 hotels in 2017. Accor/Orbis also had the largest number of rooms at approximately 12.5 thousand rooms in 2017. Other successful chains include Best Western and Hilton. The most popular brand of hotels in 2017 was ibis, which belongs to the Accor/Orbis chain. Other leading brands are Mercure and Novotel, both of which also belong to Accor/Orbis.
