Share of first-time shoppers on e-commerce channels in France 2020, by channel
More and more French people are adopting new consumption channels and favor contactless shopping methods for their safety, since the implemented COVID-19 lockdown measures in France at the beginning of 2020. Consumers are reporting online shopping experiences with fewer barriers and investing in new e-commerce platforms. Among the shopping channels used for the first time during containment by French consumers, shopping through messaging apps was the most common, with a reach of about 53 percent, followed by subscription services (51 percent) and social networks (50 percent).
