Y-o-y variation in sickness gross written premiums in Italy 2021-2022, by company
In 2022, insurance companies in Italy collected over 3.7 billion euros in gross written premiums from sickness policies, an increase of 13 percent compared to 2021. This statistic shows how the value collected from gross written premiums of sickness policies changed for each of the 15 leading insurance companies in Italy. Europ Assistance Italia was the company registering the highest growth, with 149.9 percent, a result that moved the firm from the 18th to the 14th place in the ranking according to absolute values of written premiums. On the other hand, Intesa Sanpaolo Assicura's revenue from gross written premiums in 2022 went down by almost 23 percent compared to 2021.
