Quarterly unemployment rate in Rio de Janeiro, by gender 2023
In the second quarter of 2023, approximately ten percent of Rio de Janeiro's workforce was unemployed. Women in the workforce had a higher unemployment rate than men, however, the female unemployment rate saw a larger increase between the fourth quarters of 2022 and the second quarter of 2023. Rio de Janeiro's unemployment rate in Q1 of 2023 was slightly higher when compared to the monthly national average.
